How it Works
- Selective and Systemic: Metribuzin 70% WP only affects specific weeds without harming the desirable crops. It is absorbed by the weed's roots and leaves and translocates throughout the plant.
- Mechanism of Action: It belongs to the triazinone group of herbicides and works by disrupting photosynthesis at Photosystem II.
- Broad-Spectrum Control: It effectively controls a wide range of annual grasses and broadleaf weeds.
- Crops: Primarily used in soybeans, wheat, sugarcane, tomatoes, and potatoes.
- Timing: It can be applied either before weeds emerge (pre-emergence) or after they have begun to grow (post-emergence).
Application Considerations
- Soil Moisture: For pre-emergence applications, sufficient soil moisture is important for the herbicide to be effective.
- Safety: When handling the herbicide, wear protective clothing, gloves, and a mask, and avoid contact with skin and eyes. Always follow the specific safety instructions on the product label.
